Must know
  • Volunteer Management is a CCM-parity feature (CCM had volunteer roles, sign-ups and the time tracker), so a migrating club normally has it. If Members → Volunteers is missing, ask a superadmin whether the feature is on.
  • Viewing needs volunteers.view; changing anything needs volunteers.manage. The Volunteer Coordinator access level carries both.
  • Staff can also use the classic view’s Volunteer Roles and Volunteer Listing screens. Members always get the new-look pages described below; the classic view is for staff only.
Members → Volunteers is one page with five tabs:
  • Shifts (the default tab) — dated or described shifts members sign up for, with capacity and credit hours.
  • Roles — the jobs themselves (bar, ice, kitchen, events, board…), with CCM’s type and order, which members can express interest in.
  • Listing — CCM’s Volunteer Listing: every interest and sign-up with the member’s phones, Add volunteer and Export to Excel.
  • Hours — the approval queue for hours members log, shown as Hours (n pending).
  • Certifications — the volunteer certifications a role can require (Safe Sport, ice tech and so on).
Members see the other half on your site. The Volunteer page (/volunteer) starts with What would you help with? — the interest grid CCM members knew — followed by Open shifts with Sign up buttons. My Time Tracking (/account/time) shows “Your volunteer shifts and logged hours. Hours you log are submitted to the club for approval.” and has the Log hours button. After a registration the receipt offers Continue to Update your Volunteer Interests, the same handoff CCM made. Game duties — a volunteer role attached to a team for one game — are set from the league’s draw schedule rather than from this page; see the leagues hub.
