Must know
  • Sub lists are part of the product for every club — there is no feature to enable. Whether your screens say Subs or Spares follows the Stand-in curlers choice under Settings → Club Settings → Club terminology.
  • A league only has a sub list when its Spares list switch is on in the league editor (“Let curlers with a profile flag themselves as available to spare.”). In the classic League Edit form the same switch is Show on Spare/Sub List.
  • Any signed-in account can read a league’s sub list on your public site, including name, email and phone. Signed-out visitors see “Sign in to view the {league} sub list.”
  • Members always see the new-look pages. In the classic view (staff only) the admin Sub Listing screen reproduces CCM’s.
A sub list is one row per league per curler: whether they are available, up to two ranked preferred positions, and a comment. Curlers usually add themselves; staff and the league’s convenor can also add a curler who phoned in, or edit a row — see How do I add or edit a curler on a league’s sub list?. How a curler joins. On the league’s public page, under Available to sub?, they click Join the sub list (or Add another curler for a second profile). The Join the sub list dialog asks for Curler, Preferred position, Second choice (or No preference) and Notes (optional). Each row then shows either “Showing on the sub list” or “Hidden from the sub list — your positions are kept”, with an Edit button to change the positions and notes whether or not they are available right now. Every word in the panel, including its messages, follows your club terminology, so a club that says “spare” sees Available to spare? and Join the spare list. Going away for a while. On My Subbing Availability (/account/sparing) a curler switches a league off without losing their positions and comment, edits a row with Edit, and joins more leagues from Other leagues taking subs with Join. Only available rows appear on the public list. Where members find subs. The public Sub Lists page (/spares) lists every active league with the switch on and, for signed-in accounts, the name, email, phone, positions and comment of each available sub, with an Update your subbing availability link at the bottom.
