Must know
  • Permissions add up. Someone holding two access levels gets the total of both — “picking more never takes access away”, unlike the CCM/Joomla groups where a Deny could remove a screen.
  • Members need no access level at all. As the page says: “Members get their own area (profile, registrations, results, subbing) just by being a member — there is no role to assign for it.”
  • The admin sidebar and the ⌘K palette follow the access level: each person sees only the pages their permissions open (a Treasurer sees no Website or Settings, for example). Full access sees everything your club has enabled.
  • Built-in access levels can be renamed and re-permissioned but not deleted; a custom one can be deleted only once nobody holds it.
Settings → Access Levels is where your club decides what each kind of administrator may do — “no support ticket required”. Every club starts with five built-in levels: The first three mirror CCM’s groups. Treasurer and Volunteer Coordinator are new: CCM clubs handed out full administrator rights for those jobs because there was nowhere else to put them. Each card shows its badges (Built in, Named leagues only, Full access), how many of the permissions it grants (or Everything) and who holds it (Nobody holds this yet or {n} staff members). To add your own, click New access level, give it a Name (the placeholder suggests “e.g. Bar Manager”) and Description, and tick permissions by group — General, Members, Families, Training, Events, Coaching, Financials, Staff, Incidents, Communication, Volunteers, Website. Limit to specific leagues turns it into a per-league level like Curling League Admin (this switch locks once someone holds the level); Full access to everything makes it an administrator. Click Save. Access levels are assigned per person on Settings → Staff → (person) → Profile & Permissions, and take effect the next time they sign in.

Jobs that need a specific permission

Being on staff is not enough for these. The check is made by the server, so it holds even when someone follows a link straight to the page. A treasurer can see the club’s books but cannot manage the club’s own Uplifter bill: that card pays for the club’s subscription, not the club’s revenue.
Uplifter support can preview your club as any role to help troubleshoot; every preview is logged. While a preview is on, an amber pill such as Previewing as Treasurer · Exit preview sits at the bottom of every page. It ends on Exit preview, on a club switch, or after 2 hours, and anything changed meanwhile is saved under the support person’s own name. Club staff cannot start a preview.
