Must know
  • Three switches must all be on before anyone sees the launcher: the platform’s Hero flag, the AI environment, and the club’s AI Assistant (Ask Hero) feature (enabled by a superadmin).
  • Any staff member with at least one club-wide permission can open Hero. What Hero will look up or propose is filtered by that person’s permissions.
  • A convenor whose only access is a league-scoped level (Curling League Admin with named leagues) cannot open Hero yet — their club-wide permission set is empty, so the launcher stays hidden, in the dashboard and in the League Portal alike.
  • The launcher is not mounted in the classic view.
Hero respects the same permissions as the rest of the dashboard:
  • Looking up members needs View Members; families needs View Families.
  • Invoices, revenue, “who has not paid” and “explain this invoice” need View Financials. Without it the league roster still works, but the column showing who owes money is quietly left out.
  • Changing a program’s price, capacity or registration status needs Edit Training (the same right that edits a league).
  • League actions — draws, teams, results — go through the same checks as the league pages, so Hero can only act on leagues the person could manage by hand.
  • Emailing a league through Hero needs the club-wide Send Communication.
Permissions are checked again at the moment you confirm a card, so a card drafted before a permission was removed cannot be applied afterwards (“You don’t have permission to do that.”). Related: What is Ask Hero? · What are access levels? · How do I make someone a League Manager?
