Must know
  • A fee charges nothing on its own. As the page says: “Assign each fee to the leagues, programs, or products it applies to — nothing is charged until assigned.”
  • Once per curler per season (on by default) means a curler who registers for three leagues pays the club fee once. Turn it off to charge on every registration.
  • A fee has no tax rate of its own. Your club’s single rate on Financials → Taxes & Fees is applied to the whole order at checkout, fees included, as the note under Price says. There is also no GL-code field on a fee.
  • Creating or editing fees needs financials.create or financials.edit.
Fees are how a curling club expresses “everyone who registers pays club dues once, and each league has its own price”. The league price is on the league; the dues are a Fee attached to every league.
1

Create the fee

Go to Financials → Fees and click New Fee. In the New fee dialog (“Fees are reused across seasons — avoid putting a year in the name”) fill in Name (for example “Club Membership”), Price, and choose Requires curler profile (restricts the fee to individual registrations — needed for membership-type fees), Once per curler per season, optional Min age / Max age, and Late after (days) to make it a late fee that applies only when someone registers N or more days after registration opened. Leave Active on and click Create.
2

Attach it

On the fee’s card click Assign. In Assign “{name}” choose the Item type (League / Program or Product) and the Item, decide whether it is Required (auto-added at checkout), and click Assign fee. Repeat for each league.
3

Optional fees

Each assignment row has a badge you can flip between Required and Optional. Optional fees appear on the storefront as opt-in checkboxes. The X removes the assignment. An old assignment to an item that no longer exists is listed as Retired item; it can be removed but not switched between Required and Optional.
The card summarises each fee (“$X · ages a–b · late fee after Nd · N item(s)”) with badges Inactive and Once/season. Making a fee inactive stops it charging on its existing assignments. Deleting asks “Delete “{name}”? Its item assignments are removed too.” Two curling charges are not fees: the Prize fee ($) is a per-league field in the league editor charged as its own invoice line at signup, and a per-session price is set on each league session.
