Must know
  • Inviting needs the users.create permission (Curling Administrators have it). The invitation link is valid for 7 days.
  • The Role Template in the invite dialog (Admin / Coach / Accountant / Volunteer) is a quick permission preset. For curling roles — administrator, league admin, communications, treasurer, volunteer coordinator — open the person afterwards and assign an Access Level.
  • If the email already has an account at another club, the person is simply added to yours; their password and profile are untouched and one login then covers both clubs.
1

Open Staff

Go to Settings → Staff and click Add Staff Member.
2

Fill in the invitation

In Add New Staff Member enter Full Name and Email Address, pick a Role Template (it pre-fills the Granular Permissions checkboxes; the default is Volunteer, which grants nothing), adjust the checkboxes if you like, and click Invite Staff Member.
3

Give them an access level

The new row shows status Invited. Open its Actions menu → Edit Staff Member, and on the Profile & Permissions tab tick the right Access Levels (for example Curling Administrator or Treasurer) and click Save access levels. For a league convenor see How do I make someone a League Manager?.
4

They accept

A new person receives “You’ve been invited to join {club}” and sets a password on Set Up Your Account. Someone who already has an account receives “{inviter} invited you to join {club}” and just clicks Join. The row turns Active when they accept.
Inviting an email that is already staff at your club fails with User is already a member of this organization. The row menu also offers Edit Permissions (per-person extra permissions on top of access levels) and Send Password Reset.
