Must know
  • A membership’s early bird is set on the membership term, as in CCM: an amount off and the Last day at the early-bird price. It is saved as an automatic discount, so checkout, the Confirm total and the invoice all apply it.
  • The early bird stops the day after its last day. The total shown at Confirm is the same server quote that becomes the invoice.
  • For an early bird on a league, or a percentage, use Financials → Discounts with Apply automatically and a Valid to date instead.

On a membership term

1

Open the membership

Go to Members → Memberships, open the membership’s actions menu and choose Manage. On the Instances tab each term has its own card.
2

Fill the Early-bird discount panel

On the term’s card, under Early-bird discount, enter the Discount amount ($) and the Last day at the early-bird price. Click Save; the toast reads Early bird saved and the status line reads Applies through {date}.
3

Change or remove it

Edit the amount or date and save again. Remove early bird (or an amount of 0) takes it off. Once the last day has passed the status reads Ended — not applied at signup.
The early bird is created as an automatic discount named {membership type} early bird, the same shape the CCM import writes for a migrated club, so an imported early bird shows up in this panel ready to edit. If another discount under Financials → Discounts also covers the term, the panel names it (Also covered by: …) — change that one on the Discounts page. Classic view (staff). The classic Edit Membership Type form has CCM’s Discount Amount and Discount End Date boxes, and they are editable again. They write the same early bird. Note the classic box keeps CCM’s meaning: the Discount End Date is the first day at full price, so the discount applies up to the day before. The new panel asks for the last discounted day instead. Both describe the same row.

With a Discount (leagues, percentages, several items)

1

Start a discount

Go to Financials → Discounts, click Create Discount and on the Type step pick Amount or percent off.
2

Details

Enter a Campaign name (for example “Early bird 2026”), switch on Apply automatically, set Valid from and Valid to (optional) (the last day of the early-bird price), and under Applies to tick Programs and/or Memberships, narrowing to specific items if you like.
3

Pricing

Choose Percent off or Amount off and, if needed, Total redemptions, Uses per customer or Min age / Max age. Click Create Discount.
Members see the discount’s name on the wizard’s Confirm step. When staff register someone with the proxy desk in the classic view, the classic wizard labels it Early Discount, as CCM did. Related: How do I create a discount? · What is a membership type? · What happens when a member completes signup?
