Must know
  • Available when your club has the Custom Information feature (see What is the Features page?). For a club migrated from CCM whose Community Builder had its own fields, the import switches it on and those fields are already on this page.
  • Club fields are your club’s own lines on the member record, like CCM’s Community Builder fields. Members see them on My Information, in the tab you choose.
  • They are not the same as Members → Questions. Those are checkout questions, asked per league or membership (see How do I add custom questions?).
  • Managing club fields needs Edit Settings (the Curling Administrator).
  • Deleting a field also deletes every member’s answer to it. To hide a field and keep its answers, turn Published off.
Go to Settings → Profile Fields. A banner at the top explains the page: “The fields every member has (name, phone, address and so on) are set here. Your club’s own fields are under Club fields below; the Registration Form builder decides which of either kind signup asks for, and in what order.” Its Open Registration Form button takes you to the builder. The Club fields card lists your fields in display order. Each row shows the title, the field’s key, its type and its Tab.

Add a field

Click Add field. In New club field fill Title and, for French-speaking members, Title (French). Pick the Type: Text, Text area, Drop-down, Multi-select, Yes / No, Date, Email, Web address or Number. You cannot change the type once the field is created.
2

Choose where it shows

Under Tab, pick Personal Info, Contact Info, Emergency Info or Curling Club Info to put the field in that section of the member’s record. To give it a section of its own, choose Another tab… and type a Tab name. That section appears after Curling Club Info.

Fill in the details

For Drop-down and Multi-select, list the Options, one per line. To give an option a French wording, write it as English;;;Français (for example Right;;;Droite): French-language members see the French half, everyone else the English, and the answer is stored the same either way. For Number, set a Minimum and Maximum if you need them. Help text shows under the field, and Help text (French) is what French-speaking members see instead.

Set the switches

  • Required: a member editing their profile must fill it in.
  • Profile: shown on the member’s own profile.
  • Registration: asked in the signup wizard. You can only turn it on for a published field.
  • Edit: the member can change it. Off means only staff can.
  • Searchable: a filter and a column in the member directory, when the directory is on.
  • Published: unpublished fields are hidden everywhere and keep their answers.
Click Save. You see Field saved.
Changing a field later. The same switches sit on each row of the card and take effect as soon as you click them. The pencil opens Edit club field and the arrows (Move up, Move down) change the order. The bin deletes the field after you confirm Delete “{name}” and every member’s value for it? This cannot be undone. Registration and the signup wizard. Turning Registration on adds the field to the Your information step of your Registration Form, and turning it off takes it out again. Unpublishing a field also takes it off that step. See How do I choose the fields on Step 1?.

In the classic view

The classic view of the same page is Community Builder’s Field Management screen, with CB’s columns: Name · Title · Type · Tab · Required · Profile · Registration · Edit · Searchable · Published · Order.
  • New opens New Field. The form has the Title (French), the Description and the Description (French). To edit a field, tick its row and press Edit, or click its Name. The form has Save, Save & Close and Cancel. The Name is made from the title when the field is first saved.
  • Click a tick or cross in any of the six switch columns to flip that switch.
  • Tick rows and press Publish, Unpublish or Delete to act on several fields at once.
  • The Order column has up and down arrows.
Both views edit the same fields, so a change in one shows in the other. If the club does not have the feature, the new look shows only the built-in field settings, and the classic screen says Custom profile fields are not enabled for this club.
