Must know
  • Changing the pages publishes a new text version (version 2, 3 and so on). Everyone who agreed earlier keeps the version they agreed to, and staff can still open it.
  • Saving without changing the wording does not create a new version. Neither do changes to the title, status, validity, Required, How members agree or the age limits.
  • Editing the pages is still refused once anyone has given a drawn signature on them: ”…Publish a new waiver instead — the wording people agreed to has to stay as they saw it.”
  • Deleting is refused once the waiver has any acceptance, signature or signing record, including names imported from CCM: ”…Set its status to ARCHIVED instead…”.
Every agreement records the version of the text the member saw. When you change a waiver’s wording and save, the new wording becomes the next version and is what members see from then on. Existing agreements are left as they are. A new version does not make anyone sign again; a member signs again when their agreement expires or the season resets. To read the wording a member agreed to, open their waiver from the member’s profile or the signer list. The viewer opens on that version: Showing version {version}, the text as it was agreed to. The current text is version {current}. Choose Show current text to compare. Each history entry has a View version {version} link. See How do I see who has signed a waiver?. Agreements made before text versions existed have no version recorded, because the wording could have been changed under them. Their viewer shows the current text.

When a drawn signature blocks the edit

A drawn signature is stored against each page, so rewriting the pages would destroy it. For a waiver signed with Draw a signature at checkout, create a new waiver with the new wording, set it Active and attach it to the same leagues, memberships or venues, then set the old one to Archived. Members are asked for the new one at their next registration, and the old signatures stay on file under the archived waiver. To have everyone sign the same text again each season, use Reset every season on the waiver.
