Must know
  • Members reach it at /register/wizard (the page is titled Membership Signup); the view=signup bookmark redirects there. It is new look only — members have no classic wizard.
  • One form definition drives it. The club shapes it under Settings → Registration Form — “reorder steps, turn them on or off, and edit their questions… changes apply to the public signup immediately.”
  • The total shown at Confirm is the total charged, and a club with no card processor can still take registrations with Pay at the club or by mail.

The steps

The builder offers these step kinds, each switchable and reorderable: the curler profile (CCM’s Step 1 — personal, emergency contact and curling info, from the club’s field list), membership selection (can be required), league selection with per-league entry (positions, play-with, skip-only entry, 5th–8th players, team invite codes and Rank Your Leagues), options (light select questions such as a locker rental or student status, which can carry a price), releases (the club’s waivers, signed in the wizard), custom questions, and an optional entry choice landing — Register My Team / Join A Team / Register As Individual — for clubs that ran CCM’s “league signup separately” mode. The membership step lists only the types ticked Show On Sign-up, in the club’s Order, with their descriptions formatted — see Where did Membership Types go?. The custom questions screen appears only when the club has custom questions to list; a club with none (and every club imported from CCM, which had no such screen) goes straight from the releases to Confirm.

The league list

The league step follows CCM’s filtered list, in the upgraded form:
  • FILLED and LIMIT REACHED. A league marked full reads FILLED and a capped league at its limit reads LIMIT REACHED, CCM’s two labels. Neither can be ticked. A league that is off signup is not listed.
  • Already in the league. As CCM showed a league the member had signed up for as their entry, a league the curler already holds a place in reads ALREADY REGISTERED and cannot be picked again, in the wizard and at the proxy desk; checkout refuses a second registration too.
  • WAITLIST is new. CCM had no waitlist. A league with an automatic waitlist that has room reads WAITLIST when full and can be ticked to join it at no charge. Imported leagues run no waitlist, so a full imported league still reads LIMIT REACHED.
  • Entry doors. With the How are you registering? step, the wizard offers only the doors some league takes, and a league that does not take the chosen kind of entry is greyed out (Team entries only — this league does not take individual entries.).
  • Eligibility before the pick. Where CCM silently dropped a league the curler could not enter, the wizard shows it greyed out with the reason: gender, age on the club’s age date, a blocking skill level, or a required membership (one picked earlier in the same wizard counts). It is the rule checkout applies, so checkout no longer refuses what the wizard offered.
  • Migrated leagues. Every league CCM listed on signup and had not marked FILLED arrives open for registration, so signup is live as soon as the club’s address points at Uplifter. Close a league’s registration before then if it should wait — see How do I set the registration window?.
Phone numbers typed for a new curler must be ten digits, as CCM’s ###-###-#### rule required, but the punctuation is forgiven: “(613) 555-0142” is saved as 613-555-0142. Phones already on file, including imported ones, are never re-checked. Members see the steps in the new look, in a single stepper ending at Confirm. The classic rendering of the same definition — CCM’s STEP N headings, the PERSONAL INFO / EMERGENCY CONTACT INFO / CURLING INFO bands, the “STEP 2/2” ranking sub-step and the Confirmation step — survives only inside the staff proxy tool below.

Money at Confirm

Every line the member sees — league fee, prize fee, session fee, priced options, early-bird — is priced on the server and the Confirm total is the invoice total. As in CCM, an imported club records the signup at Confirm, before payment. The setting is Book registrations at Confirm, which the import turns on with a 7-day hold. The Confirm step carries CCM’s warning, Confirming books your registration now. It must be paid within 7 days — otherwise your entry will be deleted., and its button reads Confirm and continue to payment. The booking is one unpaid invoice holding the member’s seat. It shows on UnConfirmed League Signups as Booked — awaiting payment, and checkout pays that same invoice by card or with Pay at the club or by mail. Unlike CCM, an unpaid booking is actually released when its days run out. See How do I let members book at Confirm and pay later?. Age limits, gender, skill level, required memberships and full leagues are checked in the wizard before the pick and again at checkout.

Offline payment

Settings → Club Settings → Pay at club or by mail, with Payment instructions. Confirming creates the registration and an offline invoice, prints a registration sheet, and staff record the payment on the invoice when the cheque arrives. A cheque is not surcharged.

Registering on a member’s behalf

Registrations → Proxy Registration — “Register on a member’s behalf. Runs the same wizard as the public signup; confirming creates an offline invoice for the member — record their payment on the invoice.” It prices exactly like the public signup — automatic discounts such as an early bird, priced options and who pays the tax all apply, and the Confirm total is the invoice total — and it can book a league session. For staff in the classic view it is CCM’s proxy tool: PROXY SIGNUP TOOL FOR ADMINS, one Select the User you wish to complete a signup for: list of “Lastname, Firstname”, Send Email Confirmation to User? (default No) and Next Step, then the classic wizard with a PROXY:Lastname, Firstname | Send Email?:No line at the top of every page. It never offers online payment: finishing books an owing invoice and shows it. The list starts blank rather than on the first name, so nobody registers the wrong person by accident. Switching views mid-way keeps the curler and the answers entered. In both views the desk shows the same league reasons as the member wizard. FILLED, LIMIT REACHED, the entry door and gender stop the pick there too, as CCM’s proxy list did; an age or skill-level reason is shown with (staff may register past this) in the classic view, and the league stays available, so staff can make an exception knowingly.
