Must know
  • The club has a default view, and it decides where staff land on the dashboard. The CCM import sets it to classic; a club created new on the platform defaults to the new look.
  • Members always see the new pages on the club site, whatever the club default says. A member preference for the classic view left over from before is ignored.
  • The default is set by the migration, not on a settings page; ask support to change it for the whole club.

How the view is decided

Only staff — a superadmin, or someone signed in to the club with at least one permission (admins, league managers and convenors, finance, any club role) — can see the classic view at all. For them, each user carries a preference that starts empty. When it is empty, the club default applies. The moment someone presses ✨ Try the new look or Switch to classic view, their preference is written and wins over the default from then on. That lets a board member try the new look without moving the whole club, and lets a club stay classic while its treasurer works in the new look. Everyone else gets the new look, full stop.

For a migrated club

The importer records the classic view as the club default, so admins and convenors see CCM-shaped admin screens on day one, and the pill in the corner is the invitation to try the other look. Members see the new club-site pages from day one; their old CCM bookmarks still land on the right page.

For a new club

There is nothing to relearn, so the new look is the default. Staff can still reach the classic view with one pill on any dashboard page that has a twin.

Retiring the classic view

There is no club-wide “retire classic” switch yet. A club that has fully moved over asks support to change the default; staff who chose classic keep their choice until they flip it.
