Must know
- The screen is Settings → Profile Fields. In the classic view it is CB’s Field Management list, with the same eleven columns. A
com_comprofileradmin bookmark opens it. - Your club’s own CB fields are imported as club fields. Each keeps its tab and its Required, Profile, Edit, Searchable and Published flags.
- Members see and edit these fields on My Information, in the section CB showed them in.
- It needs the Custom Information feature. The import switches that on for a club whose CB has fields of its own.
- Classic view: CB’s list, with Name · Title · Type · Tab · Required · Profile · Registration · Edit · Searchable · Published · Order. It has the New, Edit, Publish, Unpublish and Delete toolbar, and you click a tick to flip a flag, as in CB.
- New look: a Club fields card that edits the same fields.
What the import does with your CB fields
- Type. CB’s select and radio become Drop-down. Multi-select and multi-checkbox become Multi-select, checkbox becomes Yes / No and date stays Date. A textarea becomes Text area, email stays Email and a web address becomes Web address. Anything else (text, code, delimiter and so on) arrives as Text. A choice field with no option list arrives as Text.
- Tab. A field on CB’s Personal Info, Contact Info, Emergency Info or Curling Club Info tab lands in that section of the member’s record. A field on any other tab gets a section of its own with that tab’s name. A field whose tab no longer exists lands in Curling Club Info.
- Flags. CB’s Required (required when the member edits their profile), Profile, Edit, Searchable and Published flags carry over.
- Titles in two languages. A title written English;;;Français arrives as the English title plus the French title, and a description written that way is split the same way. French-language members see the French wording in the signup wizard, at checkout and on their profile.
- Options in two languages. A choice written English;;;Français keeps that exact value — so every imported answer still matches it — and each member sees the half for their language.
- Answers. Each member’s value arrives in the matching field. A multi-select keeps every choice the member had ticked.
- Association number. CB’s
cb_gnccidorcb_uscaidcolumn is not imported as a club field. It goes to the member’s Federation Membership number, as USA Curling. See What does the import carry over?.
