Must know
- The classic view is for staff only, on the club dashboard: admins, superadmins, league managers and convenors, finance, and anyone else with a club role. Members (curlers) always get the new pages on the club site, with no switch.
- Two looks, one product. A classic admin page and the same page in the new look use the same data and the same rules; nothing is a separate system.
- The same address serves both looks. There is no
/legacy/site.
What is in it
- com_curling admin: Home (today’s draw grid), Leagues (with the 36-field League Edit), Games (list, edit game, Generate Games), Points, Rounds, Divisions, Teams, Sheets, Subs, Membership Types, Volunteer Roles, Volunteers, Reports and Maintenance.
- Companion components: the Facility Calendar’s Resources and Calendar, the Curling TV control panel, the association-sync page, and Community Builder’s Field Management (at Settings → Profile Fields).
- The desk’s proxy signup: Registrations → Proxy Registration, which reproduces CCM’s proxy tool and walks the classic signup wizard on the member’s behalf.
Getting around, the CCM way
- Select a League. Games, Points, Rounds, Divisions, Teams and Subs work on “the league you selected”, as in CCM. Opened from Home or the Leagues list with no league chosen, each opens its own Select a League screen with the league dropdown; pick a league and the section opens for it. Subs with no league chosen lists every league’s subs, and its Export to Excel downloads all of them.
- The last league is remembered. Once you have been in a league, those entries open that league’s section directly, the way CCM kept your selection. It is remembered per club, so staff who work for two clubs never land in the other club’s league.
- Switch league in place. The Select a League dropdown on Games, Teams, Subs, Points, Rounds, Divisions and Sessions opens the same screen for the league you pick. If you have typed something you have not saved (a points grid, say), it asks first: Switching leagues will discard it.
- Sheets is club-wide. Sheets opens the classic Sheet Listing for the whole club; no league is needed.
What is not in it
- Member pages. The club site — league pages, standings, My Information, subbing, volunteering, the signup wizard and the rest — is new look only, for everyone. A member never sees a Switch to classic view button, and a member’s old CCM bookmarks open the new pages.
- Features CCM never had. They exist only in the new look; opening one from the classic view shows it in the new look with a slim banner, “This feature exists only in the new experience.” See Which pages exist only in the new look?.
