Must know
- Most clubs rarely edit their website, so on cutover day the Uplifter team can serve your old site exactly as it was: your template, logo, menus, slider, sidebar and footer, from your own files, on your usual address.
- The live parts — logging in, signing up, leagues, the calendar, events, your account — open the new system’s pages. Nothing a visitor needs is lost.
- While the copy is live, the website builder is hidden in your dashboard. You switch to the builder yourself when you are ready; switching back is something only Uplifter support can do.
What a visitor sees
Your old site, page for page, at your club’s address and on your own domain if it points at the new system. The pages were copied from your live site at cutover, so they show what your site showed that day. The parts that used to talk to Joomla now point into the new system:- Member Login, forgotten-password and profile links go to the new sign-in and account pages. A member who is already signed in goes straight to My Account.
- Sign up and the registration links open the signup wizard. Links to CCM’s league, standings and league-info pages open the club’s Leagues page (
/leagues), which lists every current league with its teams, schedule and standings. - Calendar opens the club calendar; Events and event registration links open the events page.
- Waiver links go to the member’s account. Old bookmarks such as
index.php?option=com_curling&view=signupland on the matching new page.
What changed on the copy
- Boxes that showed live information — the login box, upcoming events, sub lists, latest articles — keep their title and become one link, such as Member login or Live at Events. The old, stale list is removed; nothing is made up in its place.
- A contact form becomes a Contact us link in the same spot. It opens the club’s contact page, whose messages arrive in Website → Form Submissions.
- Search boxes and other forms that posted to Joomla are removed. Forms that post elsewhere, such as a PayPal donate button, still work.
- Trackers are gone (Google Analytics, Tag Manager, Facebook pixel and the like), and the new system’s cookie notice appears. YouTube videos and Google Maps embeds still play.
- Members-only pages were not copied; those addresses lead into the new system’s member pages.
- The address
/leaguesalways opens the new Leagues page. If your old site had its own page at exactly that address, the copy of it is no longer shown there. Pages below it, such as/leagues/rules, still show the copy.
