# What is an early-bird discount?

> A lower membership price your club offers up to a set last day; it applies automatically and shows on the Confirm screen and your invoice.

<Note>
  **Must know**

  * An early bird is a fixed amount off one membership type, up to and including a last day the club sets. No code is needed.
  * It shows on **Confirm your registration** as its own green minus line, named after the membership (for example **Adult early bird**), and again at checkout with *(applied automatically)*. The invoice carries the same line.
  * It is judged on the day you pay, not the day you start: finish checkout by the last day or the full price applies.
</Note>

Your club sets the early bird on the membership type itself, so it takes money off that membership only — not off league fees. The membership step lists the regular price; the discount appears on the Confirm screen, where the **Total** already includes it.

Because the wizard prices your basket on the server, the discounted total you see on Confirm is what you are charged. If you started registering before the deadline but pay after it, the line disappears and the full price applies.

**Coming from CCM?** Your club's early bird carried over with the same amount on the same membership type. CCM's **Discount End Date** was the first day at the full price, and that is kept exactly: the discount runs until the day before that date. A CCM discount amount that had no end date was never applied by CCM, and it is not applied here either.

Other automatic discounts — family or multi-league, for example — show the same way under their own names.
