# How do I choose leagues?

> The leagues step: ticking leagues, filling in an entry for each, prices and prize fees, leagues shown FILLED, LIMIT REACHED, WAITLIST, ALREADY REGISTERED or greyed out, and continuing without a league.

  **Must know**

  * Every league open for registration is listed with its description and fee, in the club's order. A league with a prize fee also shows **+ \$x prize fee**.
  * A league the curler you are registering cannot enter is still listed, greyed out, with the reason underneath, and its checkbox cannot be ticked. A full league reads **FILLED** or **LIMIT REACHED** next to its name, or **WAITLIST** when you can still join its waitlist. A league the curler is already in reads **ALREADY REGISTERED**.
  * Tick a league's checkbox and its entry fields open underneath; untick it to take it out again.
  * You can continue without any league — for example if you only want a social or practice membership.

The step is called **Select your leagues** unless your club renamed it. If you used CCM, this is the second **STEP 2 - Select League(s) You Wish to Join** screen — but instead of clicking into each league and choosing **Save Entry**, you tick it and fill in the fields in place.

The fields depend on the league — team name, roster, positions, play-with, comments, a team code. When you have ticked two or more leagues, a **Rank your leagues** panel appears at the bottom of the same step. Then choose **Continue**.

## Leagues you cannot pick

The wizard judges each league for the curler picked on the first step, and for the way you chose to register, before you tick anything. The rule is the same one checkout applies, so a league you can tick here is not refused later for these reasons:

* **FILLED** — *This league is full.* The league has been marked full; for a migrated club, a league CCM marked FILLED stays FILLED.
* **ALREADY REGISTERED** — *\{name} is already registered in this league.* The curler already holds a place in it. A booking made at Confirm and not yet paid does not count: the league stays pickable, and confirming again replaces that booking. A league sold by session can be entered again for another session.
* **ON THE WAITLIST** — *\{name} is already on this league's waitlist.* The league is still full and the curler is already queued.
* **LIMIT REACHED** — *This league has reached its registration limit.* The league's cap is taken and it has no waitlist with room.
* *Team entries only — this league does not take individual entries.* You chose **Register As An Individual** and the league takes teams only. The reverse reads *Individual entries only — this league does not take team entries.*
* *\{name} does not meet this league's gender requirement.*
* *Open to ages 18+ — \{name} is 17 on the club's age date.* Age is measured on your club's age date, not today. With no date of birth on file: *Open to … — add \{name}'s date of birth to their profile first.*
* *\{name} does not meet this league's skill-level requirement.*
* *Needs a membership \{name} does not hold — pick one on the membership step.* A membership you picked earlier in the same wizard counts.

**WAITLIST** is the one label you can tick: *This league is full. Tick it to put \{name} on the waitlist — you will not be charged until a spot becomes available.* The league's other rules (entry type, gender, age, level, membership) still apply first. The waitlist line costs nothing at checkout; when a spot opens, the curler is moved in and the league price is charged then. If you switch to another curler after ticking a league, **Continue** stops you with the reason until you untick it.

If nothing is open you see **No leagues are open right now.** A league that is missing from the list altogether is not open for registration yet, or has been taken off signup. A full league whose waitlist is approved by the club (not automatic) reads **LIMIT REACHED** here, but may offer **Join Waitlist** on its own page.
