# What is club credit?

> A balance the club holds for you — usually from a refund — that pays for your next order automatically.

  **Must know**

  * Club credit is money the club holds for you at that club — from a refund to credit or a grant by staff. It is tied to your account email, so it covers anyone in your household you pay for.
  * At checkout it applies itself when it covers the **whole** order; there is no box to type. Credit cannot be combined with a card for a partial amount.
  * Your balance and ledger are under **Billing Details** → **Club Credit** in the Members Portal.

When your signed-in account has enough credit for an order, checkout skips the card form and shows *\$\{total} will be paid from your club credit. Click below to complete your order.* with a **Confirm Order** button. The receipt lists **Paid with: Club credit**. If the credit is smaller than the order, the full order is charged to your card and the credit waits for a smaller purchase — or ask the club to apply it to an invoice for you, which staff can do.

If you also enter a gift card, the gift card is used before the credit.

**Billing Details** shows one card per club with the balance and the note *Credit applies automatically the next time it covers an order at this club*, plus a ledger with **Credit added**, **Applied to order**, **Refund to credit** and **Reversal** rows.
