# How do I edit my personal and contact information?

> Changing your name, phone, address, gender, birth date, delivery hand and preferred position from My Information.

<Note>
  **Must know**

  * Everything in **Personal Info**, **Contact Info**, **Emergency Info** and **Curling Club Info** can be changed by you, except **Email** on your own profile and the fields **Managed by the club**.
  * First and last name are required; the error reads **\{Label} is required**.
  * Changing your own name or phone here also updates your login account. A changed phone must be re-verified before the club can text you.
  * Your club's own fields are edited in the same place and saved with the same button.

  <Step title="Open My Information">
    On your club's site go to **My Account** → **My Information**. Pick the curler in **Curler profile** if your account has more than one, and use the section buttons along the top to jump to, for example, **Contact Info**.

  <Step title="Change what you need">
    Edit the fields in place. Gender offers **Male**, **Female**, **Other**, **Prefer not to say**. Delivery hand is **Right** or **Left**. Preferred position lists **Lead**, **Second**, **Third**, **Fourth**, **Skip**, **Vice (Third)**, **Alternate**.

    Press **Save changes** at the bottom of the record. Only the fields you changed are sent; you see **Profile saved**, or **No changes to save** if nothing changed.

**Email is locked on your own profile** because it is your login. The field reads *This is your login email.* with a **Change it under Account Settings** link that jumps to the **Account Settings** card further down the same page. There, **Change email** sends a code to the new address; see [Can I change my login email or password?](/members/my-information/how-do-i-change-my-password). On a child's profile you *can* edit the email here, since it is not a login.

Fields the club maintains — **Skill level**, **Membership number**, membership status — are shown but cannot be edited; trying returns *"\{field}" is managed by the club and cannot be changed from your profile*.

**Your club's own fields.** If your club has added fields of its own, they sit in the section the club chose, or in a section of their own after **Curling Club Info**. A yes/no field is a **Yes** / **No** choice, a drop-down offers the club's options, and a multi-select is a list of checkboxes. A field the club does not let you change is greyed out with **Managed by the club** under it. Saving checks what you typed: *This field is required*, *Enter a valid email address*, *Enter a web address starting with http\:// or https\://*, *Enter a date as YYYY-MM-DD* or *Choose one of the offered options*.
