# How do I add an emergency contact?

> Where the emergency contact name, phone and relationship live, and the two places you can set them.

<Note>
  **Must know**

  * Each curler has one emergency contact: **Emergency contact name**, **Emergency contact phone** and **Emergency contact relationship**.
  * Set it in the **Emergency Info** section of **My Information**, or in the **Emergency Contact** section of the medical form in the Members Portal — both write the same record.
  * Your club may ask for it during signup (Step 1) and may require it before checkout.
  * The emergency contact is part of your medical record, so it follows you to every club you belong to.
</Note>

On the club site, open **My Account** → **My Information**, press **Emergency Info** to jump to that section, fill the three fields and press **Save changes**.

In the Members Portal, **Medical** → **Edit Medical Info** has an **Emergency Contact** section with **Name**, **Phone** and **Relationship** (a list such as Parent, Spouse, Partner, Sibling, Friend). If a curler has no emergency phone on file the medical page flags **Missing Emergency Contact** with an **Add Emergency Contact** button.

The **Contacts** block further down the same page is something different: those are people who may register on your behalf and are pre-filled at checkout, not emergency contacts. Unlike the emergency contact, they are kept for this club only. See [What happens to my details if I belong to two clubs?](/members/my-information/what-happens-to-my-details-if-i-belong-to-two-clubs).
