# How do I book ice?

> Reserving a sheet or practice slot from the Registration page, picking a time, and paying at checkout.

  **Must know**

  * Bookable ice appears on the club's **Registration** page alongside the leagues; the **Reserve Ice** / **Book Ice** buttons take you there. Only clubs that run bookings have it.
  * Pick a venue, a date and a time, then **Add to Cart & Checkout**. Some venues need club approval first — the booking is then **Awaiting Confirmation**.
  * Some venues are for club members only. They are listed, and can be booked, only when you are signed in as a member of the club or a guardian of one.
  * Clubs set how far ahead you may book, how much notice they need, and how many bookings you may hold; the page tells you if you are outside those limits.

  <Step title="Find the venue">
    Open **Registration**, or use **Book ice** on **My Account** → **Ice Bookings**. Bookable venues appear as cards showing the duration, days, **Booking Fee** and **\{n} max per slot**, with a **Book Now** button.

  <Step title="Pick a time">
    On the venue page, under **Select a Date**, choose a day; **Available Times** lists the slots. Booked or closed times are struck out. Choose one and the button becomes **Register Now**. If approval is needed you see *Bookings are subject to admin approval before confirmation.*

    Pick **Who is registering?**, complete any membership, waiver or medical steps the venue requires, review under **Review Your Booking**, and choose **Add to Cart & Checkout**. Pay in the normal checkout.

If a time is refused, the message explains which rule applied — for example *This club needs at least 24 hours' notice…* or *You already hold 2 bookings that week, and this club allows 2 bookings per week. Cancel one, or pick another week.* Days the club is closed show no times at all.

You receive a confirmation email when the booking is confirmed, and further emails if the club changes or cancels it.
