# How do I add or edit a curler on a league's sub list?

> Type in a curler who phoned the club, change a sub's availability, positions or comment, and export every league's sub list at once — in the new view or the classic Sub Listing.

<Note>
  **Must know**

  * Staff can put a curler on a league's sub list for them — for example someone who phoned the club — and change any row's **Availability**, first and second choice of position, and **Comment**.
  * Who can: anyone who can read the club's sub lists (full access, *members.view* or *training.edit*), and a league's convenor for the leagues they run. A convenor can only pick curlers registered in a league they run; the office can pick any club member.
  * The league must have its sub list switched on. Adding a curler who is already on the list updates their row rather than adding a second one.
  * **Export all leagues** downloads one file with every league's list you can see, including curlers marked **Not available**.
</Note>

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the league's Subs tab">
    Go to **Registrations → Leagues**, open the league and click **Subs** (or **Spares**, in your club's wording). A convenor can use **Find a sub** in the League Portal.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add a curler">
    Click **Add sub** — "Type in a curler who phoned the club. They go on this league's sub list." Type two or more letters of a name or email under **Curler** and pick them from **Select a curler**. Set **Availability** (**Available** or **Not available**), **First choice** and **Second choice** (or **No preference**), and an optional **Comment**, then save. The toast reads **Sub saved**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Edit a row">
    Click the pencil (**Edit sub**) on the row. Change the availability, positions or comment and save. A curler who is not available shows a **Not available** badge beside their name.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Export">
    **Export CSV** downloads this league's list. **Export all leagues** downloads every league's list in one file, with a League column.
  </Step>
</Steps>

The curler sees the change on their **My Subbing Availability** page, and an available curler shows on the public **Sub Lists** page as if they had joined themselves.

## In the classic view

Pick the league, then **Subs**. The **Sub Listing** toolbar has **New**, **Edit** and **Delete**. **New** opens a form with **League**, **Member** ("Type at least two letters of a name or email, then pick."), **Availability**, **Position 1**, **Position 2** and **Comment**, and **Save**, **Save & Close** and **Close**. Click a name (or tick one row and click **Edit**) to change it; a curler marked not available reads **(Not Available)** in the list.

Opened with no league picked, **Subs** shows "Please select a league. To export every league's subs at once, use Export to Excel without selecting a league." — and **Export to Excel** there downloads every league, as in CCM.
