# How do I give a member portal access?

> Invite a curler who has no login, resend the invitation, or send a password reset from their profile.

<Note>
  **Must know**

  * The action is blocked, with a message, when the curler has no email, is under 18, or has no birth date on file. Minors get access through a guardian instead.
  * If the email already has an account at another club, the invitation simply adds your club to it — the person's password is untouched.
  * Someone who already has a working password is offered **Send password reset**, not a new invitation.
</Note>

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the profile">
    Go to **Members → Directory**, find the curler and choose **View Profile** (or **Grant portal access** straight from the row menu).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Read the Portal access card">
    It shows one of **No account yet**, **Invitation not accepted yet** or **Can sign in**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Send the right thing">
    Click **Send invitation** for a curler with no account, **Resend invitation** if the first one was not accepted, or **Send password reset** for someone who can already sign in.
  </Step>
</Steps>

Once they accept, the **Login** column in the directory fills in and the curler can use their members' area — profile, registrations, results, sub availability — with no role to assign.
