# How do I manage teams?

> Create teams, add curlers to positions, assemble teams from signup declarations, and assign divisions and sessions on the Teams tab.

<Note>
  **Must know**

  * Only curlers registered in the league and not yet on a team can be added: the **Add curler** dialog's **Curler** list is limited to them.
  * Deleting a team releases its members back to the unplaced pool — "Members are released, not deleted."
  * Team names can only be renamed in the classic view's Team edit form (**# or Name**); the new view's Teams tab has no rename.
</Note>

Open the league and click **Teams**. The toolbar offers **Random draw**, **Assemble from registrations**, **Copy teams** and **New team**. **Copy teams** re-creates ticked teams, with their rosters, in another league — see [How do I copy teams to another league?](/club/leagues-and-draws/how-do-i-copy-teams-to-another-league).

<Steps>
  <Step title="Create teams">
    Click **New team** and enter a **Team name**. Or click **Assemble from registrations** to build teams from what curlers declared at signup — the team name, skip name and roster names captured by the registration wizard.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Fill the roster">
    On a team card click **Add curler**, pick the **Curler** and a **Position**: Lead, Second, Third, Fourth, Skip, Vice or Alternate.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set division and session">
    Each card has a **Division** select and a **Session** select (following your club's terminology); both save immediately.
  </Step>
</Steps>

Who is still unplaced? The **Registrations** tab lists every registrant with columns Curler, Team name, Skip name, Position, Lineup, Team, League fee and Status (in words, such as **Active** or **Booked — awaiting payment**); the League Portal's to-do list also counts "curlers are not on a team". The **Random draw** button builds balanced teams for you — see [How do I draw random teams?](/club/leagues-and-draws/how-do-i-draw-random-teams).

Roster "name slots" captured at signup (a fifth to eighth player) are text the registrant typed; the team roster itself uses the positions above. Team invite codes are created by registrants in the signup wizard and have no admin screen.

In the classic view the **Teams** screen lists teams with CCM's toolbar, including **Copy Team**, and a live **Select a League** dropdown that opens the same screen for another league. The Team edit form has **# or Name**, Session, and a **Roster** with Skip / Vice / Second / Lead slots.
