# How do I import games from a CSV?

> Upload a spreadsheet of games instead of generating them, with an all-or-nothing check that reports every bad row.

<Note>
  **Must know**

  * The file is accepted or rejected **as a whole**: "No games were created — fix the rows below and re-import the whole file". Up to 500 rows.
  * Columns, in order: `Date,Time,Sheet,Team 1,Team 2,Round,Division,Session`. Date is YYYY-MM-DD, Time is 24-hour HH:mm on the club's clock, Sheet is the sheet number (1 = first sheet). Round, Division and Session are optional and matched by name.
  * Lines starting with `#` are ignored, so you can leave comments in the file.
</Note>

<Steps>
  <Step title="Download the template">
    On the league's **Draws** tab click **Template** (classic view: **Download Excel Import Template**). Fill it in with your spreadsheet program and save as CSV.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Import">
    Click **Import CSV** (classic: **Import Games Using CSV File**) and choose the file.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Fix anything rejected">
    If any row fails you see an **Import rejected** dialog with a **Row N** badge and a message per bad row — a team "not found in this league" or "is ambiguous", a team playing itself, a duplicate of an existing game or of another row, "Sheet N already has a game at…", or a team with two games at the same time. Correct the file and import it again.
  </Step>
</Steps>

On success the toast reads "Imported N games — N new draws". Imported games appear on the grid like generated ones and can be edited, mass-edited or scored the same way.
