# How do I copy teams to another league?

> Roll teams and their rosters into another league — a fall roster into the winter league, say — with Copy teams in the new view or Copy Team in the classic view.

<Note>
  **Must know**

  * Each ticked team is re-created in the league you pick as "\{name} - Copy", with its roster and positions, and published — CCM's Copy Team.
  * The team's division and session are not copied (they belong to the league it came from), and neither are its games, bye requests or duties. Set the division and session on the new team afterwards.
  * It is all or nothing: if the target league's maximum number of teams would be passed, nothing is copied and you are told how many places are left.
  * You need to manage both leagues. A jitney league's night teams cannot be copied.
</Note>

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the league the teams are in">
    Go to **Registrations → Leagues**, open the league and click **Teams**. A convenor can do the same from **Teams** in the League Portal.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose the teams">
    Click **Copy teams**. The **Copy teams to a league** dialog lists the league's teams; tick the ones to copy.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Pick the league and copy">
    Choose the league under **Copy to** and click **Copy N**. The toast reads **Copied N to \{league}**.
  </Step>
</Steps>

The copies keep " - Copy" in their names even in a different league, as in CCM; rename them if you want. If the target league is capped, the refusal reads "This league is capped at \{max} teams — \{n} places left, \{m} ticked."

## In the classic view

Pick the league, then **Teams**. Tick the teams, click **Copy Team** on the toolbar, pick the league in the **Copy N teams (with roster) to:** row and click **Copy**. The notice reads **Teams copied: N to \{league}**.
