# How do I switch between the classic (CCM-look) view and the new view?

> Club staff can flip any dashboard page that has a classic twin to the Curling Club Manager look and back without losing their place; members never get the classic view.

<Note>
  **Must know**

  * The classic view is for **club staff on the dashboard only**: superadmins, and anyone with at least one permission at your club (administrators, league managers and convenors, treasurers and finance, every club role). Members (curlers) always get the new pages on your club site, with no switch, whatever your club's default is.
  * The choice is **per person**: you can work in the classic view while a colleague uses the new one. Clubs migrated from CCM start their staff in the classic view.
  * Switching keeps you on the **same page and the same tab** (a league's **Draws** tab opens as CCM's game listing, and back), and the address does not change. If you have unsaved changes you are asked before they are discarded.
  * Only pages that have a classic twin offer the switch. New-only features (Hero, Recurring Billing, Gift Cards, Usage and Billing, the Store) are hidden from the sidebar while you are in the classic view. **Members → Skill Levels** stays, because CCM clubs edit skill levels; it opens in the new design. The website builder stays visible because it replaces your old Joomla site.
</Note>

Uplifter Curling reproduces the CCM admin screens on the same addresses as the new design, so a migrating club's staff can keep working the way they know and switch over page by page.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Switch to classic">
    On a dashboard page that has a classic twin, a pill button sits at the bottom-right of the screen (next to the Ask Hero bubble if your club has Hero): **Switch to classic view**. Click it. It reads **Switching…** and the page reloads in the CCM look.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Switch back">
    In the classic view the pill reads **✨ Try the new look**. Click it to return to the new design on the same page.
  </Step>
</Steps>

Admin pages with a classic twin today:

* the dashboard home;
* the leagues list, and the league page with its Games, Points, Rounds, Divisions, Teams and Subs sections;
* the club's **Sheet Listing** (Sheets);
* **Proxy Registration**, the desk's register-on-behalf page;
* Membership Types, Volunteer Roles and Volunteers, and Reports;
* Facilities, Today's Ice and Club Displays;
* the season rollover (Maintenance) page and Association Sync;
* **Settings → Profile Fields**, as Community Builder's **Field Management**.

The rest of Settings (Features, Staff, Access Levels and the others), Overview, Policies and Skill Levels have no classic twin; they always show the new design. The League Portal (`/league`) is new-design only too.

If you open a new-only page while in the classic view (for example by following a link), it renders in the new design with an amber banner reading **This feature exists only in the new experience.** A classic league tab with no CCM equivalent shows "**\{Tab}** is only in the new view." Nothing is a dead end.

## Moving between leagues in the classic view

As in CCM, **Games**, **Points**, **Rounds**, **Divisions**, **Teams** and **Subs** in the classic admin bar work on one league at a time:

* Clicked from **Home** or **Leagues** before you have opened a league, each opens that section's **Select a League** screen ("Please select a league."). Pick a league in the dropdown and the section opens for it.
* Once you have been in a league, those entries open **that league** — the last league you worked in is remembered for your club on that browser.
* On a league's Games, Teams, Subs, Points, Rounds, Divisions and Sessions screens the **Select a League** dropdown is live: pick another league and the same screen opens for it. If you have typed something you have not saved (points in the grid, say), it asks first: "You have unsaved changes to … Switching leagues will discard it. Switch anyway?"
* **Sheets** needs no league: it opens the club's **Sheet Listing**.

Your choice is remembered for a year on that browser and re-checked whenever you switch clubs, since a club that never ran CCM defaults to the new view.

## What your members see

Nothing of the classic view. The member pages on your club site (My Account, My Information, the league pages, sub lists, the signup wizard and the rest) always render in the new design. Your club site shows no **Switch to classic view** pill. A member's old CCM bookmarks still land on the matching new page. If a staff member visits the club site as a curler, they see the new pages too.
