# How do I make someone a League Manager?

> Give a convenor admin rights over their own leagues only, using the Curling League Admin access level.

<Note>
  **Must know**

  * A League Manager sees and manages **only the leagues named on their access level**: roster, teams, draw schedule, results, their league's sub list, and emailing the league. They cannot delete a league or see the rest of the club.
  * An access level limited to leagues with **no leagues ticked grants nothing** — the page warns "Pick at least one league — until you do, this access level grants nothing."
  * There are two ways in. The access level below needs the person on your staff list first (see [How do I invite a staff member?](/club/get-set-up/how-do-i-invite-a-staff-member)), and it applies the next time they sign in. Naming them on the league's **League managers** card needs no staff record at all.
</Note>

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the person's staff record">
    Go to **Settings → Staff**, find the convenor and choose **Actions → Edit Staff Member**. Stay on the **Profile & Permissions** tab.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Tick Curling League Admin and name the leagues">
    In the **Access Levels** card tick **Curling League Admin** (badge **Named leagues only**). A list headed **Leagues this covers** appears — tick each league they run.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save">
    Click **Save access levels**. The toast confirms "Access levels saved. They apply the next time this person signs in." When they next sign in they land in the League Portal rather than the full dashboard.
  </Step>
</Steps>

There is a second, lighter mechanism on the league itself. On a league's **Overview** tab, the **League managers** card has an **Add manager** button that takes an **Email** and optional **Name** and emails an invitation with an **Open the league portal** link. On the classic League Edit form, the same list is the **Who can access this league:** row, as CCM's per-league access list was. It grants league-play admin for that one league. The person does **not** need to be on your staff list: when they sign in with that email address, the League Portal opens for the leagues they are named on, and every other staff page stays closed to them. It is the quickest way to hand a league to a volunteer convenor.

The one deliberate difference from CCM: a League Manager here **can** see the sub list for their own leagues. CCM denied it; the product owner decided the convenor is the person who phones a sub.
