# How do I change club terminology (Subbing/Sparing, Round/Draw, Division/Pool)?

> Pick the words your club uses for stand-in curlers, schedule segments and team groupings; every screen follows.

<Note>
  **Must know**

  * This is wording only. As the card says: "Reports, exports, links and imported data are unaffected, and the classic skin uses the same words."
  * Clubs migrated from CCM arrive with the words their old `com_curling` options used, so most migrated clubs never need to touch this.
  * Both the new view and the classic (CCM-look) view use the words you pick.
</Note>

Curling clubs disagree about vocabulary — a stand-in is a "sub" at one club and a "spare" at another; a block of games is a round, a draw or a flight. Rather than pick one, the product lets each club choose.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the Club terminology card">
    Go to **Settings → Club Settings** and find **Club terminology**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose your words">
    * **Stand-in curlers**: **Subbing** or **Sparing**
    * **Schedule segments**: **Round**, **Draw** or **Flight**
    * **Team groupings**: **Division** or **Pool**

    The live preview underneath reads "Your screens will say \{Subs}, \{Rounds} and \{Divisions}." so you can see the effect before saving.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save">
    Click **Save changes** at the top of the page. Menu labels, tab names, the members' area, the League Portal and your public club site update immediately.
  </Step>
</Steps>

In these help articles we write "sub list", "round" and "division"; read them as whatever your club chose.
