# What are booking types?

> The categories bookings are filed under and the colours they show in — CCM's Booking Types.

<Note>
  **Must know**

  * A booking type is a label plus a colour and a visibility. It changes nothing about price or rules — "The categories your bookings are filed under, and the colours they show in on the calendar. Classic CCM called these Booking Types."
  * **Visible to: Members only** hides reservations of that type on your public calendar from anyone outside the club: visitors who are not signed in and accounts from other clubs. Your members, their guardians and your staff still see them.
  * Deleting a type that is in use archives it instead, so old bookings keep their colour.
