# How do I approve a booking?

> Approve or reject a pending reservation, and which emails the booker receives along the way.

<Note>
  **Must know**

  * A reservation is **Awaiting approval** (only on venues with **Require Approval**), **Confirmed** or **Cancelled**. Pending reservations do not block the slot until approved.
  * You can **Approve** or **Reject** a pending reservation. There is no button to cancel a *confirmed* one from the dashboard today; the member's own page says "To cancel a booking, contact the club office." If you need a confirmed booking cancelled, contact Uplifter support.
  * The booker's emails — **Booking confirmed**, **Booking changed**, **Booking cancelled** — are editable under **Communication → Transactional Emails**.

  <Step title="Open the venue">
    Go to **Registrations → Venues & Rentals** and open the venue. Scroll to **Reservations**.

  <Step title="Review the Pending tab">
    The **Pending** tab carries an amber count. Each row shows who booked and when; click **Approve** to confirm it or **Reject** to turn it down. Confirmed reservations move to **Confirmed (n)**.

What the booker receives: **Booking confirmed** when their payment completes (for venues without approval), when you approve a pending request, or when you add a reservation for them; **Booking cancelled** on any cancellation, including a reject. Any address in the venue's **Notification emails** gets a copy of every new reservation.

Confirmed reservations appear on Today's Ice (in the sheet's column when the venue has an **Ice sheet position**), on the TV boards' ice-bookings board, and on the member's **My Ice Bookings** page.
