# Where did Volunteer Roles and Volunteers go?

> CCM's Volunteer Roles (three types, sub-roles with when, capacity and credits) and the Volunteers listing are Members → Volunteers; members declare interests and take shifts on the Volunteer page and log hours on My Time Tracking.

<Note>
  **Must know**

  * Admin: **Members → Volunteers**, with **Shifts**, **Roles**, **Listing** (CCM's Volunteer Listing), **Hours** and **Certifications** tabs. Classic view: the **Volunteer Roles** and **Volunteers** sections of the admin bar. Joomla bookmarks land on the matching tab.
  * CCM's three role types are kept: an interest a member ticks (on the **Volunteer** page, linked from the signup receipt), a sign-up sheet for specific slots, and game duties placed on the draw.
  * New since CCM: a **Minimum hours per season** that can be **enforced at membership renewal**, and shift reminders.
</Note>

## Volunteer Roles

A role has a name, a description, a published flag and a **Type**: *Member Volunteer Options* (an interest switch on the club site's **Volunteer** page, which the signup receipt links to), *Signup for Specific Roles* (a slot sheet with sub-roles) or *Game Schedule Volunteer Options* (duties assigned per team on a game, printed in the draw). Sub-roles carry CCM's fields — what, a free-text **when**, how many are needed and **credit hours**. Both views set the **Type** and an **Order** for roles and sub-roles, take a formatted description (an imported CCM description keeps its formatting, and members see it formatted), and have CCM's **Save as Copy**. Role names are unique in Uplifter, so a copy is named "\{name} (copy)".

Shifts come in two shapes on the **Shifts** tab: **Specific date/time** and **Recurring / described** (CCM's free-text "when").

## Volunteers

The **Volunteers** listing (the new view's **Listing** tab, with the same columns in the same order in both views) filters interests and sign-ups by role with name, home, work and cell phone from the member's profile, email, role, when and comment. CCM's **New** is there in both views, so staff can add any member to a role or to one of its sub-roles, and **Extract to Excel** (**Export to Excel** in the new view) downloads what is on screen.

The hours log has an approval queue and totals per member. A member logs hours on the club site's **My Time Tracking** page (`/account/time`), picking the event and, as in CCM, the **Task** each entry belongs to, and can delete an entry while it is still pending. Both member pages are new look only.

## The renewal gate

Under **Settings → Club Settings**: **Minimum hours per season** and **Enforce at membership renewal**. When on, a curler whose approved hours last season fall short cannot renew until the club clears them — which is why last season's hours are never wiped at rollover.
