# How do I switch between the classic view and the new look?

> On the club dashboard, staff flip a page with the Switch to classic view and ✨ Try the new look pills in the bottom-right corner; the choice sticks until you flip it back. Members have no switch.

  **Must know**

  * The switch is for **staff** on the club dashboard — admins, superadmins, league managers and convenors, finance, anyone with a club role. The club site has no switch; members always get the new pages.
  * The switch is per person. Flipping it changes what you see, not what anyone else sees, and it stays flipped across sessions until you change it.
  * **Switch to classic view** only appears on dashboard pages that have a classic twin; the new look never offers a switch that would land nowhere.

    Press the **✨ Try the new look** pill in the bottom-right corner. The page re-renders in the new look at the same address.

    Press **Switch to classic view**, also bottom-right (beside the Ask Hero button when that is on). It is only shown where a classic twin exists.

    The switch asks first: work typed into a form on the page would otherwise go with it. Save or confirm, then switch. On **Registrations → Proxy Registration**, a switch keeps the curler you picked and the answers entered so far.

## What the switch does

It writes your preference and re-renders the page — the pill reads **Switching…** for a moment. There is no reload loop and no separate site: the same address serves either look based on your preference, so bookmarks, emails and deep links never fork.

## Staff who are also members

Your classic preference applies to the dashboard only. When you visit your club's site as a curler — your league, your profile, the signup wizard — you see the new pages like every other member.

## Going back to the club default

Your preference overrides the club's default until you change it. Flipping back to what the club chose is just the other pill.
